22Bet Kenya Sets Up A Charity Event In Vulnerable Communities

22Bet, Kenya’s leading sports betting and gaming company, held a colossal weekend charity event in Nairobi on January 7. It distributed food to the residents of Kariobangi and Korogocho communities, and cleaned up streets there.

These neighbourhoods are Nairobi’s biggest slums, home to people with lesser access to wealth. The charity event was a part of 22Bet’s broader social responsibility program in the country. It was reported that more than 300 families from Kariobangi and Korogocho benefited from 22Bet’s initiative.

The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Felix Mulandi, led the charity effort. He and his team distributed food packages and water tanks to the Korogocho and Kariobangi dwellers. They also joined the local community’s actions in the outdoor cleaning-up.

Mr Mulandi said that the 22Bet came to help the community members who are also the company’s customers. He also noted that 22Bet values community service and this is the reason the company staff had initiated the event:

“We know that most families cannot afford food, especially in these communities. We came to share food with them while leading in clean-up exercise,” Mr Mulandi said during the charity event.

The locals welcomed the 22Bet community action. Janet Akinyi, a long-time Kariobangi resident, thanked the company for reaching out to her and other people. She also said that not so many locals could afford a three-meal daily plan:

“We have had a difficult time for the past year since the cost of 2 Kg of maize flour rose to KSh230. Thank you, 22Bet and may God bless you,” Akinyi said in an interview.

As the cost of living had significantly risen recently, such a bold action, inspired and implemented by 22Bet Kenya, was vital for the Korogocho and Kariobangi communities.

22Bet sports betting and gaming company, started its operations in Kenya in 2017. It is actively involved in the promotion and development of sports throughout Africa and Kenya in particular as well as it regularly holds charity events and sports activities. For example, grassroots football charity events were held in Nigeria last year.

The betting platform also allowed Kenyans to wager on local and world sports and play online casino games. The company’s mission is ‘provide the most transparent and customer-oriented services’ in Kenya.

22Bet Kenya has upgraded the betting and gaming experience, introducing mobile payment methods, M-Pesa and Airtel Money. These options allow customers to bet on the go. 22Bet also offers its customers enjoy online casino slots and live dealer games.
